Preparing Your Home or Business for Holidays

We all know holidays are a wonderful time of the year, you can feel the joy and the happiness in the air and most of us take this season of the year as the quality time to spend with our loved ones. Aside from the food, the gifts, the family gatherings, one of the things that place a really big role during this time of the year are decorations among which you can always find novelty flowers designed specially to make you welcome the Christmas spirit. Don’t forget that you can always count with Whole Blossoms to be with you on the most special moment of the year.
The most common wholesale flowers that are used for this time of the year are usually bulk greenery, daffodils, fresh garland, fresh wreaths, tinted and full of glitter flowers that will bring joy and symbolize union and prosperity.

CHRISTMAS WREATHS
Christmas Wreaths are traditional in every decoration for this time of the year, and as you should’ve seen, the usual place for a Christmas wreath is the exterior of your front door. There it will serve as a welcoming festive adornment to greet passers-by and visitors. Find below some other interesting places where you can place your fresh wreaths:

·         Gates: If you have gates at the top of your driveway, one wreath on the left gate and one on the right can look fantastic.
·         Windows: Wreaths can work really well as Christmas window displays. Try to balance them out, e.g. one large wreath in each of the windows on either side of your front door; or three smaller wreaths in each window on either side. You will also have the benefit of being able to enjoy your wreaths from inside and outside.
·         Indoors: Hanging three small wreaths over a mirror makes an eye-catching focal display for the holidays. Consider the wall above your fireplace, or on interior doors too.
·         Chandeliers: Want to knock the socks off friends and family with your creativity? Go on, we won’t tell them we gave you the idea! Hang a wreath from the ceiling on its side rather than in the normal way. It looks great with the baubles and other decorations dangling down and works well above the dining table or if you have a high-ceilinged entranceway. If you’re feeling extra creative, you can combine three wreaths in different sizes for a multi-dimensional chandelier effect.
·         Tables: Lay a wreath flat on a table for a visually stunning centerpiece or focal point. Try adding a large pillar candle or lantern to the center.

CHRISTMAS GARLANDS
Mantelpieces, doorways and staircase banisters call out for garlands at Christmas time. Garlands brighten up dull hallways and stairs and add a sense of luxury to Christmas decorations.

Garlands can be placed in a number of different places inside or outside a home. It’s prudent to remember, however, that this is not a license to ignore design sense. Whether you’re placing a garland on a mantel or hanging it on your banister, location is a key component of effective garland decorating. After deciding on a location, you should then take measurements. Depending on where you place your garland, these may vary:
·         Columns: make sure that you get a garland that’s twice as long. This will ensure that the garland can be wrapped around the column in a neat spiral.
·         Mantels: get a garland that is at least four feet long. This will ensure that both ends of the garland drape neatly over the mantel’s corners.
·         Fence posts: have at least 0.5 inches extra of garland for every inch of the fence.
There are so many different types and styles of Christmas garland available that you can meet any need you may have. Whether you want classic evergreen garland, vibrant-colored ribbon garland, Christmas lights garland, or fun shapes and characters, there’s a string of it to wrap around your staircase. But keep in mind that it’s not always easy to get the garland to stay where you want it on your stairs. It falls, sags or bunches where it’s not supposed to, and it can be very frustrating. Fix that by using garland ties for stairs.
Outside, they look great draped above the front door or along the porch roof line. They can also be draped on gates or railings, roof awnings or window sills.
Christmas lights always brighten up any room and any person who needs some holiday cheer! Twinkling lights, hanging lights, icicle lights would all look great cascading down your staircase alone or add lights to Christmas garland for an even more spirited holiday look. Lights can also be wrapped around the staircase poles to really light up space. Mix it up to meet your aesthetic and explore all kinds of light options. Pre-lit Christmas garland comes in many options so you can skip the hassle of doing it yourself and make it nice and easy.

Decoration
After lights, the next most important step in creating visually impactful wreaths and garlands is your choice of decorations. Try creating little bunches of baubles in different sizes and finishes, and interspersing them throughout the branches. Ribbons, bows, berries, leaves and pine cones also make great additions. You could try using artificial snow spray to top some pine cones and wintery branches, to add further interest among the greenery.
You can let your imagination flies and try anything you want, strings of pearls, feathers, burlap, lace, glitter-painted fruit; use your imagination and see Pinterest.com for further inspiration.

Hanging
A different but as well creative and beautiful way of using garlands is hanging, Sturdy and secure hanging of your wreaths and garlands will prevent the headache of continually picking them up off the floor over Christmas.

You can use either a decorative ribbon or a barely visible string (or fishing wire) to hang with. If you don’t have a nail or railing to tie your ribbon/string to, you will need to install a hook, nail or large staple you can tie to. If you want to avoid making a permanent hole in the surface, you can use 3M’s adhesive hooks, but this option will only work if your wreath is under a certain weight. See the packaging for further information.
