Say I Do with Fresh Cut Wholesale Flowers for Weddings and Events

It’s only once in a blue moon that you truly find a person, who you believe, is the one to spend the rest of your life with. And it is then that you think seriously about a marriage.
If you’ve got this far and are in fact looking to get married then you really got your work cut out. Almost all major floral services that deliver wedding flowers claim that they only offer fresh-cut flowers, Even if we do believe them; it still leaves the burning question unanswered as to how you can actually care for them that they look fresh-cut flowers indeed for your I do’s and other events.
Here’s a follow up to that question and a typical manual that will help you keep the wedding flowers in great condition so that they actually do end up looking fresh flowers for the esteemed day

Refrigerate well:
Do not even think of putting the wedding flowers in the refrigerator when it is packed with fruits and vegetables. The fruits have a tendency to release chemicals according to the ripening and decomposing guidelines and these chemicals can do kill the flowers pretty easily. Instead, store them in a place that is coolest or even at room temperature but surely not under a vent or a refrigerator full of other eatables.

Temperature and humidity factor:
Getting a cooler place for wedding flowers alone is not going to help you keep them in good health. Flowers, in order to retain health and freshness, need specific humidity and temperature levels. Florists use coolers that are set to specific norms of temperature (36-38 degrees) and humidity conditions (90 percent) which makes it easier for them to keep flowers safe for longer durations. The given temperature and humidity range does not hold true for tropical flowers such as; orchids, calla lilies, birds of paradise and various others. These flowers need 50 to 55 degree of temperature to be in prime health.

Select long-lasting flowers:
Unless you’re planning to buy one of those flower coolers for keeping your wedding flowers fresh, you’re better off selecting durable and long-lasting flowers for the event.  A lot of wedding accents like, orchids, calla lilies, mums, baby’s breath, carnations, and daisies are known to have a longer shelf life as compared to probably lilies, gardenias, magnolias, daffodils, tulips, lily of the valleys, peonies and certain others.

Don’t make arrangements too early
Doing arrangements earlier (more than a day) can make even the most durable flowers lose their shine and this is why one should only get the décor and floral arrangements in place close to the time of rehearsal dinner on the day before the actual wedding eve.

These are few ways to ensure that your flowers that were supposed to be fresh actually do fit the bill on the wedding day.

Have any experience or tips keeping flowers fresh for longer durations. We’d love to hear from you.
